It is a commonly expressed view that community or grassroots football is the ‘foundation’ of the game in this country and provides the base that is necessary to continue to produce talented players, coaches, referees and administrators.
It’s also a well known fact that if not for the huge participation numbers at the grassroots level of the game, the sport may well not have achieved the results it has in the past few years.
Football Federation Australia and the Hyundai A-League have recognised this and are constantly looking at ways to better engage with the community.
The Hyundai A-League clubs are also part of this engagement and as part of their participation agreements, are to be actively involved in their community.
There are many ways in which the clubs are engaging with the community. These include:
1. School visits – includes coaching clinics, sports days, special school initiatives etc
2. Local club visits – includes presentation nights, registration days, coaching sessions etc
3. Appearances at special events – shopping centre visits, community functions etc
4. Charity functions
5. Coaching clinics
6. Sponsor Events
These are just some of the ways the clubs can get involved in your community.
Each Hyundai A-League club runs its own community program and has dedicated staff that will help you with any enquiries that you may have.
Please note: the Hyundai A-League office is not responsible for the organisation of players from the clubs to attend events. This is strictly the responsibility of the HAL Clubs.
